Make this wonderful fall sugar scrub that exfoliates and softens your skin! Add skin safe coloring for a fun candy-corn look or leave it natural and get the same beauty benefits from this fall sugar scrub.
This is a perfect “treat” for yourself (no tricks here)! Sugar scrubs also make great hostess gifts this time of year. This would be an excellent present for your Thanksgiving hostess. You could even make them in smaller jars as cute favors for guests if you’re the one hosting.
With just a few simple ingredients, you can create this amazing scrub and customize it to your liking. The sugar in the scrub helps exfoliate dead skin cells and the coconut oil moisturizes, leaving your skin buttery soft and smooth not to mention smelling delicious!
I made two different scents of sugar scrub and both smelled ah-maze-ing! Sugar Scrub #1 had more of a fall spice scent and #2 smelled a little sweeter. Both scents smelled delicious but the general favorite was the sweeter scrub #2.

Ingredients:
Sugar Scrub Option #1
~ 3/4 cups Granulated White Sugar
~ 1/2 cup Coconut Oil
~ 15 drops OnGuard (Protective Blend) Essential Oil
~ Twine to wrap around lid (Optional)
Sugar Scrub Option #2
~ 3/4 cups Granulated White Sugar
~ 1/2 cup Coconut Oil
~ 3 drops Ginger Essential Oil
~ 4 drops Cassia Essential Oil
~ 4 drops Clove Essential Oil
~ Twine to wrap around lid (Optional)
*You can substitute sea salt or brown sugar for the white sugar and almond oil, grapeseed oil, or olive oil for the coconut oil.
**I found there to be a bit of coconut oil collected at the top of the jar once it was filled so I topped it off with an additional 1/4 cup of sugar to fill the remaining space and absorb the excess coconut oil. I prefer my scrub to be more on the thicker side so this was just my personal preference.
I used a plastic mason jar for safety purposes in case it drops in the shower or my toddler knocks it over, it won’t break! Lol! There are tons of pretty glass jar options online though if you’re less clumsy than my family. 😉
Instructions:
~ Combine the 3/4 cups sugar and 1/2 cup coconut oil in a bowl and mix well.
~ Add essential oils and stir until mixed well. Add more sugar or coconut oil for your desired consistency.
~ For the candy corn colors, divide the scrub equally into three bowls. Add one drop of yellow to one bowl and stir well. Continue to add coloring drops and stir until the desired color is achieved. Less is more in my opinion. For the orange color, add one drop red and one drop yellow and mix well. Continue to add color until the desired orange color is achieved.
~ Fill container by gently adding spoonful’s of each color in layers until the jar is full. I found it was best to fill the jar from the outside edge to the center as the layers would settle and the outer layers would remain even.
To Use:
Apply to skin and rub in a gentle circular motion. Rinse scrub off and gently wipe away any sugar residue. Pat dry with a towel to reveal soft moisturized skin.
