Hello, & thank you for stopping by! I’m so excited about starting a blog and sharing a little piece of myself and my life with you!
I’m a native Floridian who FINALLY met my soul mate in 2011. The night we met, my husband texted me “Thank you!” after we parted ways. I responded “for what?” he said, “for being you!”. So cheesy, I know, but he was actually being sincere. It’s totally unreal to me that men like that exist and that this one would want to be with my sarcastic butt! I guess opposites do attract. My husband is a true sweetheart! Guys want to be his friend and girls wish their man was a little more like him. I lucked out! I, however, am a little sassy and tell it like it is! Rough around the edges, but if you’re good people, I will give you the shirt off my back. I’m an extremely hard worker and have had my own bookkeeping business for 10 years. I’m very disciplined when it comes to work, but also love to let loose & have fun.
Life got even more exciting and meaningful when we had our son in 2014. Having a child completely changed my priorities. I went from being tremendously ambitious with work to wanting a better quality of life and more time with family. I feel like our son taught us the true meaning of life. I know that sounds clichéd but it’s not about what you have or getting ahead, it’s about who you’re with and the time you spend together. This often gets lost in the everyday hustle that we go through, but my son is a daily reminder of what’s really important. Our house is full of laughter, music, and impromptu family dance-offs! We have fun even when we’re not doing anything. Just hanging out together is a good time.
When I’m not working or dancing to the Mickey Mouse Hot Dog Dance with my son, I like to do crafts. I often start multiple projects at once and finish them as I feel inspired. This drives my husband nuts! I’ve tried explaining to him how my crazy creative mind works but he just doesn’t get it. It’s really hard for me because I’m also OCD about keeping the house clean and organized. I feel like the right and left sides of my brain are constantly at war with each other. We wind up putting all pending projects in a room to die wait for me to finish them and then just shut the door. This at least contains the eyesore when we have company. I know a lot of creative people who have this problem as well. Unfortunately, being creative and messy while you’re at it kinda goes hand in hand.
I also love to make my own gifts for the holidays and other occasions such as baby showers. I try to come up with original ideas that I would also love to receive as gifts. I’m a huge Pinterest addict and often feel like I’ve been crafty just from spending hours pinning things I’d like to do one day. One day when I can step away from Pinterest that is!
I want to inspire others with this blog, but also inspire myself. Inspire myself to not only finish my current projects, but also start new ones and maybe use my imagination more and Pinterest less…maybe.
I hope you have fun reading my posts and feel inspired yourself! Please don’t hesitate to comment below or contact me with any questions or feedback. I would love to hear from you!
